Fly Fishing

Fly fishing on the Sudbury River by Sherman's Bridge. As far as I'm aware, this area isn't a fly fishing mecca and I don't think you would want to eat the fish if you caught one. The fish didn't appear to be biting this day, but the mosquitoes certainly were.

I showed you a view from this bridge last spring when the trees were bare and the water was a steely blue.

Perhaps, he was just practicing his casting.

Why not eat the fish? Is the river that polluted? I don't think I'd like to be out there with biting mosquitoes, even if the fish were biting!

A very pretty photograph, Antjas!

Jacob, good question about the pollution. There have always been "No Fishing" signs along the river due to mercury poisoning. This article explains how the mercury got into the river over 25 years ago and the concerns about non-English speaking people fishing and not understanding the consequences of consuming the fish they may eat.

Thanks, Antjas. I read the article. My god, what a mess! And what a shame! It was all so avoidable! I get so angry at corporatists who never consider the consequences of their actions to make a buck!

Hopefully, the river can be cleaned up entirely, but what a massive job!

And it's such a beautiful river!

Makes me so sad!

Idyllic looking scene. Too bad about skeeters and even more about the popution in the gorgeous river.
