What Thoreau may have seen

I want you to get an idea of how large Walden Pond actually is. Pond to me is something that's murky and full of frogs and basically a a large puddle. Not so in New England. This view is looking south from near Thoreau's cabin. Perhaps the first sight of the pond he would have in the morning.

This is the view from the NW looking SE. No puddle indeed.

This shot shows you the unique shade of blue/green that the pond exhibits in different places. This is a little lagoon. The water here is so clear.

Quite natural looking and one place it might be fun to stay and enjoy. Thoreau was there I guess. What a place it must have been then.

Well, thank you for this. I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Walden's Pond before and had in mind, like you, a small, murkey, weed-infested little puddle of water filled with frogs and creepy-crawly things!

Beautiful photos!
