Patriots' Day Observed

Two militia men, deep in conversation, as they take a moments rest on their foggy early morning march to meet the redcoats in Concord.

Awesome shot, I love the background (insert 'fog of war' reference :P )

I like the idea of celebrating important moments in history of nations, it's a great lesson for the young, too. And these men look so authentic..:)

Hmm, they seem a little too relaxed to being heading off to fight the British. This is questionable.

But either way, really nice photo. Does this count as two strangers in one day?

Very good shot. It looks like I stepped back in time.

This is just a wonderful photo. I had to sit and stare...so much to see and think about...and great color in the background! Superb!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I have to admit that of all the photos I've ever taken, this ranks as one of my favorites.

It really is excellent - the expressions & the lighting & the framing. I tell you, it's better than stills from a movie shoot.

We are getting a heat wave even in PV - 88 high (& more in the sun) - but it's been a dry heat so it feels good.

Gee, I guess it true: the more things change, the more they stay the same.

This is a good one, just like if you had gone there with a time machine!
