Bob

Bob is an avid historian and also a reenactor of the American Revolution. I met Bob early last Sunday morning at the North Cemetery in Sudbury while we were both waiting for the arrival of the Sudbury Fyfe and Drum on their way to the Battle of Concord. He has been a part of this group for 45 years since it began and was the Colonel back in 1952. The march is now too arduous but he greets them when they stop to make a musket salute at the cemetery for those who fell during the Revolutionary War. When I asked Bob why his attire was so different from the others, he said that he was portraying a scout. He said that many of the people involved in the Revolutionary War from Sudbury had also been in the French Indian War.

Splendid portrait...you've captured the man - pride and determination!

Thanks so much for all the historical comments...I taught American history, but like my Dad always used to say: the more you learn the more you forget!
