This is Ephraim Curtis Middle School, the building in which I spend my weekdays molding young minds. My children also attended this school which was built in 2000. Green sports fields now lay where the old school used to stand. We refer to the school as either Curtis or ECMS.
According to the school website, "The school was named for Ephraim Curtis, born in Sudbury in 1642. He held many important town offices, including serving as schoolmaster. He gained his chief fame as an explorer and guide. Daring, resourceful, courageous, and wise, he earned the reputation as the Daniel Boone of Massachusetts."
I have to say, this strikes me as odd since Daniel Boone wasn't born until almost 100 years later. Should he have been known as the Ephraim Curtis of Kentucky?
A noticable difference between today's picture and yesterdays. Although taken one day and only a mile or so apart, one area is ablaze with color and the other isn't. The forest around the school is mostly oak which takes its time changing color from green to brown, while the maples love to put on a show.

Those maples are always showing off.
I taught middle school (8th grade American History) also...and we built a new school, too, but it was a dump compared to this gorgeous building...
A good building can make a huge difference in the quality of education, assuming other constants remain of high quality - like teachers and especially administrators!
