The World War Memorial at the rotary in the center of Concord is a favorite resting spot for cyclists. It's the epicenter of some terrific biking routes. Especially busy on weekends, it's a dangerous spot for driver and biker alike if you've never navigated a rotary before.
Since I live close by, I rarely stop here but this past weekend I decided to take some photos. As soon as I pulled out my camera, this guy, who told me his name was Bobby Mac, offered to pose and raised his bike over his head. I learned that he is a legend in the area in the long distance biking world and leads groups out of Arlington, MA every Saturday and Sunday during almost the entire year, weather permitting. He was really outgoing and a perfect group leader. I googled him when I got home and found out that he has raised or helped others raise lots of money through charity bike rides. He also informed me that when he started biking 14 years ago, he weighed over 300 pounds.

This looks like a nice sunny spot to rest! What number stranger is this?
Love biking. Very colorful shots. These people look like serious bikers. And Bobby Mac is just showing off...that bike doesn't weigh much!
These guys are absolutely identical to our serious bikers (not trasportation bikers like me). Same outfits, same attitude, they'll mix together in a second and ride away...
This area look familiar to So Cal although it's in Mass.
cool photos. Nice shot of Mr. Mac - isn't is nice when people pose.
(Also, another good reminder/inspiration to get off my _ _ _ _ and the computer and go get some exercise).
