Home Plate Farm in Sudbury was the home of baseball legend Babe Ruth from around 1918 or 1922 to 1926.
In 2004, the Boston Red Sox were in the pennant race hoping to win their first World Series in 86 years. The Curse of the Bambino had been with them since Babe Ruth left for that other House Ruth built - Yankee Stadium. On August 31 of 2004, a teenaged boy sitting in the stands at Fenway was hit by a foul ball and had his two front teeth knocked out during a game between the Sox and the Los Angeles Angels. That boy lives at Home Plate Farm here in Sudbury. The rest is history. The Curse of the Bambino was lifted and the Red Sox won the World Series. Hooray!!!
By the way, on that same day, the Yankees lost to the Cleveland Indians 22-0, at the time their worst loss ever.
You gotta love this story.

I don't know much about baseball but this house is simply gorgeous! Imagine sitting in that verandah!
Let us hope the new curse is on the Yankees.
