Winterberry

Winterberry
(Ilex verticillata)

This gorgeous plant is actually a deciduous holly that hides all summer behind green leaves. It loves to have its feet wet as in this location. In the fall it drops its leaves and exposes these magnificent red berries. A sprig of of winterberry is going for $14 at Whole Foods this week.
