This post is for my son who yesterday told me he had made the acquaintance of two Bosnian women. Ironically, a few hours later I unexpectedly ended up at a Bosnian restaurant in Somerville. Bosnia is a part of the old Yugoslavia from where my parents emigrated. So the food and beverages warmed me with memories and the šljivovica (plum brandy), warmed me in other ways.
Maybe we can go there when you come home for Thanksgiving, P. Have a safe trip.

Very nice. Nothing like good food and good memories. Plum brandy sounds very good!
Now where did that photo come from? I saw the title on the side and had to come see. I still have a 'dezvu' like that somewhere & I knocked back a few 'sljivovica' for my wedding reception. It was at a Croatian restaurant in Redondo Beach next to King Harbor -25 yrs ago next March. Does your son know any Croatian words? Mine got interested in it this summer and was learning for a month. :)
