A pumpkin is a terrible thing to waste.
I hope that the meat (?) at least ended up in a pie or a soup. Sad but ashes to ashes... better this way.
I should have mentioned that we call this "black gold" in these parts. It gave up its life to nurture new life in next year's garden.
