This morning I awoke to find my Japanese Maple had turned from deep burgundy to brilliant red overnight. My two other maples made the change last week and have already dropped their leaves but this guy decided to take his time. What a lovely gift.

I had one of these outside my bedroom window where I grew up. I love these trees.
