Everywhere you look in this area you find stone fences of one sort or another. The early settlers had to harvest a lot of rocks before they were able to get anything edible from the ground.
Featuring Sudbury, Massachusetts and its neighboring towns located west of Boston, distinctly different but steeped in a common history.

Omigod! More stone fences. I can hear the march of boots, the redcoats coming and the Minutemen, frightened out of their minds, trying to get ready behind the wall or the nearest tree!
Jacob, I will have to dedicate each stone fence picture and maybe even my April 19th picture to you.
That would be wonderful and I would be honored!
Stone fences like these are very common on the west coast areas of Ireland. Did any Irish settlers migrate to your parts?
Blogaire, most of the early settlers were from England and apparently, the Irish were not welcome. However, that all changed since Boston has such a rich Irish connection.
